Dogo Dee – Sitaki Mapenzi
Tanzanian hip hop artist Dogo Dee delivers “Sitaki Mapenzi,” a personal song about heartbreak, disappointment and losing faith in relationships. He reflects on how finding a partner is not the hardest part, singing “shida sio kupata mwanamke ni kupata mwanamke ambaye hatakuonea aibu penzi,” as he explains the pain of being with someone who does not value the love given to them.

Dogo Dee also looks back on the sacrifices he made, saying “nishapoteza muda wangu bure nimepoteza pesa zangu kumsomesha mwanamke yule.” After going through such painful experiences, he declares “sitaki tena mapenzi si kwa chuki bali kwa heshima ya maumivu niliyopewa na mwanamke yule.” The song captures his decision to step away from love, not because of hatred, but because of the pain and disappointment he experienced.
